Not every week is a settlement race. This one was scale and edges.
The bracket now survives a 128-player field: 7 rounds, 127 match cards, 64 in the first column. Drawn the old way that is roughly 9,000px tall with the final centred 4,500px down and its round header long off the top, so it is a viewport now - capped height, scrolling both ways, sticky round headers, and below phone width it stops being a tree at all: a round selector, one column, connectors off. The participants list was fetched with a cap of 12 - a twelfth of a full field, with nothing on screen saying so. It reads the real total now.
Our best bug of the week was quieter: a 128-player announce wrote ZERO notifications and cheerfully reported "notified 128". The helper stringified whatever callers handed it, which is correct for ids and silently wrong for populated documents, so the queue received object dumps instead of user ids. It resolves ids before writing now, and counts what actually lands.
Beyond that: referral signup by link or typed code, crediting the referrer on the login that creates the account, so an existing user, a retry, or the loser of an email race all credit nothing. A user can hold several brands, with an official badge we control and a sponsor slot on live tournaments. Feedback and newsletter boxes wired end to end with storage behind them, not mailto links. Four more chains listed on both create wizards - AVAX, SKALE, Ronin and Abstract - rendered disabled and out of reach by pointer and keyboard, because only Solana is live today and a selector that lies is worse than one that waits.
Plus a username check that no longer rejects the username you already have, and a cron that stopped feeding a queue whose worker is switched off.
Esports infrastructure is mostly this. The onchain settlement is the part worth talking about; the reason anyone gets to use it is a fortnight of edges like these.
