Pathnod build update 👋

DePIN networks can register devices, but how can they independently verify that those devices are actually deployed in the field?

Pathnod is building a way for nearby phones to act as privacy-preserving witnesses. A phone challenges a device over Bluetooth, checks its signed response, and ultimately produces an observation that a network can verify without publicly identifying the observer.

What we’ve built so far:

• A macOS BLE device simulator, tested with an iPhone for discovery, challenge–response and notifications.

• Shared Poseidon test vectors verified across TypeScript, Rust and Circom.

• An observation circuit that proves observer membership and derives a protocol-scoped pseudonym and an anti-double-counting nullifier.

• A defined encoding contract for the 32-byte protocol and device IDs.

Next: connect the mobile proof flow to the observation verifier and Solana program, then measure proving time and end-to-end performance on real devices.

We’d love to hear from DePIN operators about how they currently verify physical deployments. And if you’d like to try Pathnod, don’t hesitate to join our beta waitlist—we’ll reach out when testing opens: https://pathnod.com/beta/
